The DEANERY at the HEART of the WEALD

Parts of the website are still being developed.  Your patience will be appreciated.

Congratulations are extended to our Lay Chair, Mrs. Valerie Wallis, MBE, who has been installed as an Honorary Lay Canon of Canterbury Cathedral.  Valerie's installation as an Honorary Lay Canon took place in the Cathedral on Sunday 15th March, 2009.

Revd. Lusa Nsenga-Ngoy, Curate at All Saints, Staplehurst will ordained Priest at the 10.30am Service on Sunday 5th July, 2009 at All Saints by Bishop Richard Llewellin, former Bishop of Dover.

10-30am on Sunday 12th July, 2009 will be the final service in the parish for Revd. Marian Bond, Curate at St. Michael and All Angels, Marden, having completed her period of training.  Marian will licensed as Associate Priest in the Len Valley Benefice at 7-30pm on Wednesday 22nd July, 2009 at St. Mary's Church, Lenham.

Congratulations are extended to Lusa and Marian and our prayers and best wishes are with them in the next stage of their Ministry.

UPDATE
The parish of Headcorn has combined with those parishes forming The Suttons - Chart Sutton, East Sutton and Sutton Valence will form a new cluster within the Weald Deanery.  All the parishes are currently in interregnum and arrangements are in hand to appoint a new Priest-in-Charge in Headcorn.  The Priest-in-Charge will assume responsibility for the new cluster and be assisted by one or more Non Stipendiary Ministers in The Suttons. It is envisaged that a House-for-Duty Priest will be appointed for The Suttons in 2010, to live in the Vicarage in Sutton Valence.  Please pray for all within these parishes, for the forthcoming appointment of a Priest-in-Charge in Headcorn and that the transition to the new cluster will be smooth.
