EXPANSION OF THE DEANERY

We welcome the Benefice of Benenden and Sandhurst which joined Weald Deanery with effect from 1st November, 2011, following the merger of Tenterden and Romney Deaneries.  We look forward to their fellowship and to their active involvement in the Deanery.

 NEW APPOINTMENTS

1  We extend our congratulations to Revd. Silke Tetzlaff on her appointment as Rector of All Saints', Staplehurst.  The induction service for Revd. Tetzlaff was at 7.00pm on Thursday 24th November at All Saints' Church, Staplehurst.   We welcome her to Weald Deanery and look forward to working with her,    

2.   The Churchwardens and PCC of St. Michael and All Angels, Marden are pleased to announce that Rev. Alison (Ali) Duguid, of the Ospringe and Davington Benefice in Ospringe Deanery has accepted the offer of appointment as Vicar of Marden.  Further details will be published when known.

3.   Mr.Russell Anderson, who is an ALM at St. Peter and St. Paul's Church, Headcorn, was elected as Lay Chair of Weald Deanery Synod at the Synod Meeting on Wednesday 23rd November, 2011.  Congratulations to Russell on his appointment.

4.   Rev. Bill Hornsby, Vicar of Goudhurst and Kilndown and Area Dean, has announced that he will be retiring with effect from Easter Sunday 8th April, 2012.  A new Area Dean will be announced as soon as possible.  We wish Bill and his wife a long and happy retirement.
